The Goldspeed British QX Championship heads South West to Wrangway near Wellington for a double helping of with Broadhembury MCC promoting round three of the series in conjunction with the fifth round of the British Sidecarcross Championship.
Leading the British QX Championship by fourteen points after the opening double-header at Desertmartin is reigning champion Paul Winrow. Former champion John Mitchell has proved that he is back up to speed and the affable Scot will make the long trip from Stornoway firmly focused on reducing his old rival's points lead.
A superb display in Ireland saw Carl Bunce come away in third place a further nineteen points adrift, but hot on his heels with just four points splitting the trio are Mark Watson and Jason Macbeth.
Stefan Murphy should also do well around the fast and furious Wrangway venue, while current European Quad Champion Paul Holmes has clearly put the disappointment of the opening meeting behind him and should be a challenger for the podium.
Flying the flag for Somerset and no doubt aiming for a good result in front of his home crowd, twenty-two year old Liam Cater from Martock He is ready to race after returning from a racing and training trip in the USA, where he hopes to compete in 2011.
In the Under 21 class, Stefan Murphy leads the points with a maximum tally of six from six and a forty-four point lead, but the battle for second is split three ways with just six points in it between James Hellewell, Ben Harman and David Cowan.
Action gets under way with practice at 9.30am with the first of the British Championship race set for 11.00am.
Wrangway circuit is located just outside Wellington and will be signposted from the A38 Wellington bypass, with Junction 26 the best exit from the M5.
